For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a camera in my hand. From the heartbreaking day I inherited my grandmother's Kodak Brownie as a twelve-year-old boy, my wonder and fascination with making images was so overpowering that nothing has ever rivaled it.
I spent my youth capturing anything and everything that piqued my interest, but my main inspiration always was—and remains—the splendor of nature. For many years, I earned a living by photographing people. That's how I fed my young family. I fueled the fire of my passion, however, by photographing the natural world around me. Whether my subject was a brilliant sunrise on a solitary beach or the imposing presence of a mountain, a thundering storm over the ocean waves or the peace of a forest under its towering canopy, my vision has been forever drawn towards God’s breathtaking creation.
As a young, aspiring professional photographer, my passion led me into apprenticeships with some the world’s most renowned artists. These gifted mentors guided my education through all aspects of this captivating craft. If I wasn’t composing in the studio creating portraits, or in the field photographing what is now 350+ weddings, I was in a darkroom—conquering the science of chemistry and the mathematics of exposure calculations and processing times. My passion with Black & White photography, inspired by the Ansel Adams’ Zone System, instilled in me an even deeper love for and devotion to my artistry. Over decades of practice, I’ve endeavored to hone my talent, define my style, and master the art of painting with light.
The finished artwork itself holds the utmost importance, as it will become a priceless family heirloom. But equally significant are the relationships I form with my wonderful clients. These patrons love my work, but even more so, they are drawn to the vibrant and positive energy I bring to the work. I love what I do and who I do it for. Come be a part of my continuing journey, just as my work can become a part of yours. Let's create something beautiful together.
