Palm Coast Fronds
Here is "Palm Coast Fronds" taken with an infrared camera on a bright sunny day on the east coast of Florida. Infrared sees the world in a way that departs from the everyday. By photographing beyond the normal optical spectrum of light we are given a view of the world through very different eyes. This image just feels like "fun" on an easy breezy warm summer day.

Infrared photography captures light that is outside of what you and I see naturally. It is most intense when seen in full and bright sunny days with lots of foliage. Living flora most often records in bright white tones giving grass, trees and shrubs a dream-like quality. For all of my work, I only print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic paper, one of the most exquisite and expensive in the world. The metallic particles embedded in the coating of the paper, along with it’s remarkable yet subtle texture, gives the print a shimmering dimensionality that is almost magical.
